Summit Township CMP Games Match
This will be a CMP match at 200 yards held on 27 Sept 25. From 8AM until 845AM there will be an opportunity to go over the rules and positions with a short clinic. We are limited to 4 firing points so we will limit to a maximum of 12 competitors. 845 will be the safety brief Firing will begin at 9AM.
Ear and eye protection as described in the rule book are required during firing. The use of chamber flags is required when not actually firing or prep time. No exceptions.
It will be a 30 round match with up to 5 sighting shots. Prep time will be given before each stage.
First stage: Prone with sling, 5 sighters in 5 minutes, walk and paste.
Second stage:10 slow prone w/sling for record fired in 10 minutes single loaded. Walk score and paste
Third stage: Prone rapid w/sling. Garands and AR’s (and any other semi auto) will load 2 on a closed bolt from the standing position. Bolt guns will load 5 on an open bolt. At the command start, the shooter will drop into position, with the barrel pointed downrange…. Charge the rifle, fire 2 (or 5 bolt gun) rounds, load a clip or magazine of 8 (or 5) fire in a total time limit of 80 seconds. Walk score and paste
Fourth stage: The final 10 rounds will be standing unsupported in a time limit of 10 minutes single loaded. Walk score and pull centers.
The firearms permitted will be those under the CMP Games match rules. EG. 1903 Springfield, 03A3, M1 Garand, Vintage service rifle (EG. US Krag, 98 Mauser) or modern military (AR- AK ect) The rifles are open sights only not bedded or accurized in any way to make them other than as issued.

Equipment. A stool or chair to rest your unloaded rifle on between shots standing and to hold your ammo a bit higher is nice to have. A leather glove for your front hand keeps the sling from digging in. A shooting mat or old blanket to keep you off the ground. Hat. Ammo. If you have a shooting jacket, bring it. If not, a jacket with a little padding or a insulated shirt will help with pulse transfer.
